Why I built this

"I've dealt with nicotine addiction myself. I watched friends struggle with it too — that particular grip it has on you, the way it sneaks into every quiet moment. I couldn't find an app that took nicotine pouches seriously as their own thing, so I built one. Snusst is the tool I wish I'd had. It's new, it doesn't have hundreds of reviews yet — but it was made by someone who genuinely understands the addiction, not a faceless team chasing another subscription."

The quit, step by step.

Most people don't fail because they lack willpower. They fail because they have no system. Snusst gives you the system.

Step 1

Set your quit date

Pick a date, set your last-pouch time, and the timer starts. Day zero becomes a fixed point — not a vague intention.

Step 2

Track every craving

Rate it, name the trigger, beat it with breathing or a mini-game. Each logged craving is data that shows you your patterns.

Step 3

Watch your body recover

Eight health milestones unlock as your body heals — from the 20-minute heart rate drop to the 1-year cardiac recovery marker.

Step 4

See what you've saved

The savings calculator converts every skipped tin into real money in your local currency. The number becomes its own motivation.

Things people ask before quitting.

Is Snusst really free?
Yes — the core quit timer, craving logging, journal, and basic milestones are free forever. Premium is a single one-time purchase that unlocks widgets, all mini-games, and cloud sync.
Is the science real?
Snusst's health milestones are based on peer-reviewed cardiovascular and oral-health research on tobacco and nicotine cessation. Snusst is a support tool, not medical advice — talk to a doctor if you're worried.
When is the Android version out?
Google Play launch is scheduled for July 26. Drop your email in the footer to be the first to know — no spam, one announcement and done.
Will my data stay private?
All journal entries and personal stats are encrypted and stored on your device. Optional cloud sync (via Supabase) uses end-to-end encryption tied to your account. We never sell data.
What if I relapse?
Reset the timer with one tap, log the relapse without judgement, and keep going. Most people don't quit on the first try — Snusst is built to be patient with you.
How long does snus withdrawal last?
The physical peak hits around days 2–3, then eases significantly by the end of week one. Most of the acute symptoms — headache, fog, sleep disruption — resolve within two weeks. Psychological cravings tied to habits and triggers can continue for weeks or months, though they become shorter and less intense over time. The three-month mark is where most people notice a qualitative shift.
Is snus as addictive as cigarettes?
Research comparing snus users and smokers on standard dependence measures found no significant difference in self-perceived addiction levels or difficulty quitting. Snus is less harmful than smoking in terms of lung health — but that's a different question from how addictive it is. The nicotine dependence mechanism is the same.
Does Snusst work for ZYN and Velo too?
Yes — Snusst is designed for anyone quitting nicotine pouches, whether that's traditional Swedish snus, ZYN, Velo, On!, or any other brand. The craving tools, health milestones, and savings calculator all work the same regardless of which product you're putting down.
Should I quit cold turkey or taper?
The research favours cold turkey — a 2016 clinical trial found cold turkey had a 22% six-month success rate versus 15.5% for gradual reduction, with both groups using nicotine patches and support. That said, the support matters as much as the method. Cold turkey with craving tools tends to outperform gradual reduction without them.
Will quitting snus help my gums?
Significantly, and faster than most people expect. Gum inflammation typically starts resolving within the first two weeks. By three months, most quitters show measurable reduction in periodontal pocket depth. Around 60% of mild leukoplakia patches (the white patches where snus sits) regress or disappear entirely within twelve months of quitting. Permanent gum recession doesn't reverse, but everything that can recover, does.
